Default clomid & met????

been ttc for 3 years....pregnancy a year ago but miscarried at 13 weeks with no luck since.

I knew something was wrong but my gp kept fobbing me off saying we were just being too anxious.... eventually i did get referred to endocrinologist who dx PCOS in july..

i`v done one cycle on clomid 50mg & bloods d21 showed i`d ovulated.... now 16dpo and no AF ...but HPT -

Can you still have no AF even when u`ve ovulated??

I`v been reading up alot on metformin & think it`s a better long term treatment but neither gp or endo support its use......anyone got any ideas if clomid & metformin can be used together

Hi,

Clomid and Met can be used together (try searching through the TTC board for ladies that are 'mixing')

It's sad that your doctors don't support Met because at the moment it's the best thing we have.

Maybe you can go to your next appointment armed with as much info as you can to try to persuade them. If they won't listen what is the chance of being referred to another Endo that will?

Met is by no means a miracle cure but, after some rocky months of my body rebelling against it, I'm now getting the benefits and feel an awful lot better.

Good luck to you.

It may be that you ovulated really well, so your progesterone was very high.

AF is triggered by a drop in the progesterone levels so after a really 'good' ovulation AF can take longer to come. I had this problem when I had multiple follicles that popped on Clomid.

You should try and get ultrasound monitoring on Clomid too.
