Is this normal?
I am taking 1500mg of Met/day and this month did a cycle of 100mg of Clomid. I had horrible s/e and was a moody wench (dh's term ) but my body didn't respond to it beyond that. As a matter of fact I have had the worst cycle temps and cf wise that I have had in almost a yr.

We have been ttc #1 for 5 yrs now and I am dealing with depression on top of PCOS and I'm wondering if any of you have had a month like this on Met & Clomid and if you think that it's worth trying again? If we do I will be starting the Clomid later than cd5 since my cycles are between 35 and 40 days normally. We really don't want to spend money on a drug that my body doesn't respond to or if the follies can't get thru the ovarian walls.


Any insights and help you ladies can give me would be wonderful as we are facing an upcoming vacation and need to talk to our ob/gyn before that.

I am sorry you are having to go through this. I will not be of any help since I do not have s/e from either clomid or metformin. But I do want to wish you the best in whatever you decide!

I had some bad s/e from taking Met/Clomid combo. It was hard to keep with it but in the long run it work! I notice also that my temps were going crazy. I started temp vaginally (advice from other cyster) they were more consist. G/L

i have not ovulated w. metformin (2000mg per day for the last year) taken in combination w. avandia. i took clomid (150mg)for two cycles and didnt ovulate the first time (and the side effects were bad). but i did the second time. so there may be hope for you with a few cycles of clomid if you can bear the side effects. i had started to think i would never ovulate because my body seemed so resistant to mediactions that worked for so many other people. the infertility specialist is pretty confident that i will ovulate w clomid, maybe just not each month. my mom took it for six months before ovulating (and thus getting pregnant w me).
good luck to you. i know it's a tough road and we can only do as much as we can handle. sometimes a break helps us recuperate and gather strength to try again

The last time I went to see my doc he suggested that in the future whether it was far or near that I could try met. Right now I am only on clomid and now I don't know if I want to do both at the same time. It sounds like it is not a whole lot a fun.
