Do you get them? I sure do... last round of Clomid (100 mgs) they were pretty bad, daily, with blind spots and flashing in my eyes. I am now on 150 mgs ... worried they will be worse... anyone have this too?

First of all, I am sorry you have to deal with this! A few years ago I did 6 failed cycles of Clomid. With the Clomid I had the worst migraines of my life! I would lose my vision peripherilly(sp) and only see wavy lines in the center, I would get confused and not be able to speak properly or understand speech properly, I would get sick to my stomach and my heart would race and I would even pass out sometimes. I noticed this happened more as I got larger doses. This is what stopped me from trying for a few years. Well, I went on Femara this time and had absolutely no side effects and it worked the second cycle i used it and I am now awaiting my beautiful baby. I would ask about it if at all possible. I do wish you luck though!!

Thanks and CONGRATS on your wee one! Do you know the sex?
What is Fermara? I have an appointment tomorrow at University of Michigan with a Fertility Clinic, I am hoping they will help me! I hope it won't be too much longer, and I'll be awaiting my beautiful baby too.

First of all thanks for the congrats on our baby! We don't know what it is yet but we find out on April 9th. Can't wait! Femara is actually prescribed off label. It is a breast cancer drug used for women in Menopause and for some reason it stimulates ovulation. Go figure. there are studies out there if you research a lot that say don't take it in pregnancy but if you are taking it to ovulate then you take it pretty much like you take Clomid and it is out of your system in 24-48 hours so no danger. My doctor told me that they have seen better results with Femara and women with PCOS becasue we have a higher tendency to hyper stimulation of our ovaries and it has a lower rate of multiples than Clomid. It actually helps your cm instead of drying it up like Clomid can also. It also helps your endo lining instead of hurting it too. So all around I feel that it is a better medication than Clomid. You knwo I always reccommend this to women who are having trouble with Clomid and I know I sound like a broken record to some people but I feel very strongly about it because we tried 12 years and this took 2 cycles. I did take 2000 mg of Met also for 3 months before I started the Femara and I lost 15 pounds with it alone so I am sure that helped some although I am still big. You know this might not work for everyone but it worked for me and was my miracle drug so I highly reccommend it. Sorry, I got off track there but I would definately ask about it.

I will ask about it tomorrow! Thanks for letting me know! I know that the Clomid still affects me even when my next period comes. I still have the headaches and feel crappy. Anyway, its too late to do anything other then take the rest of the Clomid I started last night. I just wish the headaches weren't so bad, I am really wondering how bad this round will be, I thought last round sucked pretty bad! lol
April 9th is a good day! I will be celebrating my 3rd year post-op! I had Gastric bypass in 2004, I have lost 300 pounds - but I still need to lose 120 more. Its going real slow these days, the depression, frustration and feeling like a hopeless cause, has really got me down in the dumps.
Anyway, I hope you get what you want when you have the U/S!
Thanks for the info, I will talk to the doc tomorrow. Wish me luck.... I have a feeling I am going to need it.

Hey, congrats on the bypass! It is amazing to lose so much weight and you will get the rest off too, just be patient with it and stay happy. I know it gets hard to stay on the positive side but it will help you and I will definately pray for your fertility issues and for your weight loss goals also! I don't blame you for finishing this round of Clomid. Like I said I put myself through 6 cycles so I know what you are going through. It is amazing what we will go through to have a baby ya know. I just kept telling myself it was worth it if it worked. And it is so don't be hard on yourself.
