My insurance only covers 6 lifetime cycles of ovulatory drugs and I am on cycle 2 of Clomid this month. My question is this: Has anyone ever taken Clomid and not been monitored by ultrasound? I am thinking of asking my RE if she can prescribe the drug and I will pay for it on my own and than I won't have the ultrasounds so I can save my insurance cycles until after my husband gets tested. Has anyone done this before?

I took clomid unmonitored by my doc with u/s. I only took one round, and now I am pg. However if you are going to do that, I would either start temping, Clearplan monitor, or both. I did both, and it helped tremendously! My temps and monitor peak days coincieded so there was no question about when I 'O'd.
