Red face Clomid Question...

Hello there! I have some questions about your experiences on Clomid. I took 50mg on days 5-9 for the first time this month. At first I felt no s/e. I was using OPK, but getting negative results up until day 15. Then I just stopped testing because I was frustrated and felt like giving up. We went on a cruise, and since I knew we'd be "active", I just assumed I'd let whatever was going to happen, just happen. Well, on day 21-23, I had the worst pain "down there" that I've ever had in my life. It felt like extreme menstrual cramps, about every 20 minutes or so it would come in waves, but of course, no period. I was miserable and scared because I've heard about hyperstim. I'm going for my progesterone test today. My question is, does this sound like ovulation, or more like a random case of stomach pain? I didn't notice the pain being only on one side, so I'm not sure. I'm kicking myself for not continuing my OPK! Grrrrr. Also, how long does the progesterone test take to come back? I'm so anxious to find out if I O'd. Any thoughts on whether this pain was O related? I never used to feel O, so I don't know what the deal is . Any thoughts?

Thanks for all of your support!

Marji

Hi Marji,

OPK's didn't work for me so I feel your frustration. Temping doesn't work for me either.
Sounds like it may have been O for you. Sometimes it's just cramps, not pain on a specific side. Only your progesterone levels will tell if you O'd. Depending on your doctor and lab, the results are usually available next day. Some lucky people go to a doc with an onsite lab and they get results same day, but that's not common. Call your doc's office and ask how often the lab runs tests. In most cases they run tests daily and you'll have results next day or in 2 days.

GL!

I had strong pain like you were talking about, if I bumped my abdomen or laughed w/ gusto it would hurt worse. I called the Dr. after 5 days and they wanted to do an u/s. Turns out it wasn't hyperstim. just a large cyst that ruptured. I have never had one before and did not know the symptoms.

I haven't been on clomid yet, but when I had a cyst rupture that is what it felt like. Often I have lutal cysts that occur after I do ovulate, so maybe you did ovulate too.

Default 1st time on clomid

I started my cycle 6/5/07 i started clomid on cd5-9. this is my first time using it. I am currently on cd15 no sign of O using OPK and temp charting, however my dr told me not to use OPK until cd 13 because could have a false positive if too close to actual consumption of clomid. anyway i have not experienced any pain, but I have been having hot flashes, and maybe even a slight yeast infection, i normally only get those with antibiotics? could just be a coincidence there...anyway I was having bad migraines started 4 days before my AF until CD4, nothing since starting clomid and thereafter. Anyone else have these issues? How long should i continue OPK, i am supposed to chart my temp until CD then take HPT if BFN start provera again, if BFP call the DR
