I learned that I was pcos about 8 months ago. The only reason why is because I dont get my period. My hormones are all messed up. My insulin is good, I have no extra hair on my body, I'm not heavy, I just dont get my period. So finally after 4 months of me begging my ob sent me to the fertility doc. He gave me clomid and told me to take it on days 3-7 @ 50mg and come in on day 21 for a blood test. After the blood test it came back that my levels wentn't that high and they said I probably wasnt pregnant.I wasnt.So now he gave me clomid and said to take 100 mg. So I was wondering if anyone knew if upping the dose would mean increasing my chances of twins????

that's a good question....I can't answer about the increased dose, but I can shed some light on the chances of twins and higher multiple births.

I was told by my doctor that women normally have a 7% chance (I think thats the right number!) of having twins on their own. Adding clomid doesn't increase the chances of twins by much, but the chances of having triplets and higher stays the same, so it is exponentially higher because most women would have a less and less % chance of having multiple births..does that make sense? I hope so
