Exclamation Clomid question.. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hello ladies,

I am starting Clomid just after Christmas (likely the 28th) and I wanted to know if anyone that has taken Clomid - experienced anything like anxiety or panic attacks?

I am very prone to these things, and I am concerned that with all the extra Clomid hormones... it could cause me to feel anxiety or have a panic attack. Has anyone had this happen?

Also... can Clomid make depression worse? I don't have severe depression or anything, but I do experiance bouts of depression often...

Thanks and sorry about my ODD questions... but if you have ever had a panic attack... you would understand why I am so concerned! lol

I'm sure everyone reacts differently, but I've taken 2 rounds of 100mg Clomid and did not have any side effects at all. I was very worried about hormone fluctuations as well, but have actually felt better on Clomid...don't know why. I was pleasantly surprised and I hope you will be too!

Good Luck!

I didn't experience panic or anxiety attacks, but I did experience a WIDE range of emotions. My now-ex-husband said that he saw 5 personalities in a 15 minute period once. I would cry at Hallmark commercials and then be biting his head off in the next minute. It was a little bit of a crazy period of me, although temporary. I also had a VERY strong sexual drive (sorry if this is TMI), which helped out with having "planned" love making sessions, but my ex said he thought I was going to kill him. Not a bad way to die if you ask me. LOL

ONE MORE QUESTION....

Those of you that were kind enough to answer my post, how long did your side effects last? Was it just the days you took the pills... or did they last longer? Thanks!

Hi
I have what I consider moderate anxiety/ panic attacks and I have not noticed the clomid affecting that. I am on my fourth round this time at 200mgs and for me the mood swings and hot flashes was what I noticed. My moodiness lasted maybe 1-2 days while I was taking the clomid the hot flashes for me lasted about two weeks but that was at 150mgs. Everyone responds differently to it though. I am on day 8 (I take mine 5-9) and I haven't had anything yet. Mine happens after I stopped taking it. although this time around i noticed I had a slight headache on days 5-6. it is gone now. Good luck with this round!

Just wondering if you started your Clomid yet? I started mine today. Maybe we can be Clomid Buddies?

I was hopeless and on clomid for 5 months, the last 2 months on the 200mg dose which is supposed to be the max. If it doesn't work for you, read on. I am now 11 weeks pregnant! I had never heard of what my doctor did to get me pregnant. She calls it the hybrid protocol. I have PCOS which we discovered after one month of 1 pill of clomid for 5 days. The next month it was upped to 2 clomid (I started metformin this month too). Next month 3. Next month I took 4 clomid for 5 days, then on cycle day 9 I had a repronex shot to help the follicles mature, then after an ultrasound to confirm that I had them, an HCG shot to make me ovulate. Then an IUI within 40 hours of the shot. The first month I had 2 follicles and we found out my husband's sperm count was great (we had never been tested). I was devastated when we were not pregnant. The next month we did the same meds and IUI, but his count was much lower and I only had one follicle. I was very negative and knew it wouldn't work since our chances were double the month before and no success. However, I think God just wanted to prove me wrong because we are pregnant. We are keeping our fingers crossed because my family and my husband's have a history of mc. My doctor seems proactive though because I'm still on metformin until 12 weeks. I've been on progesterone suppositories since the IUI, and I'm taking a baby asprin each day as a precaution also. After 12 weeks the only thing I will be on is vitamins. We had been trying for 16 months and it was all I thought about. Good luck to all of you and before you do pure injections, ask you doctor about the hybrid protocol that I got pg with. It saved us hundreds of dollars, and gave us a baby! (update) We had a bouncing baby boy! Carter Lee, after 25 hours of labor with 3 minute apart contractions the whole time and never dilating past a 4, we then had a C section. He is four months old and the love of our lives. We are looking forward to trying again next summer!

I didn't have any side effects at all from clomid even on 200mg. I was very thankful.

Hey there! Well I just did my first round of clomid right before xmas. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for the past couple years, like 5. I have aways been on some sort of celexa or effexor. BUt obviously when we started trying to have a baby I weaned off. Ive felt wonderful, but I tell ya, when I went on the clomid I because super super sensitive and emotional....crying at commercials and then being the devil a little while later. I've hav to say I haven't come accross that anxiety and depression state I was in earlier in my life being on clomid. hope this helps!!
