Default Clomid Questions?

I had an appointment with my doctor today. I'm currently on CD 7 he wants me to start clomid 100mg on CD 14 and then go for a scan on cd 21 He did a scan today and said I had very "quiet" ovaries. Nothing happening at all so far.

Does clomid late in the cycle do anything? I took it days 7-11 last cycle and

on CD 19.

Should I follow the doctor's advice and wait a week for the clomid or start it now? This is my last cycle with him if this doesn't work I go back to my RE's office.

He did increase my Metformin to 1500mg daily he's completely amazed that I didn't get pregnant last cycle I had three really good follicles and a nice strong O and good bd timing even had a longer LP (15 days instead of my normal 12)

I really don't want to have to go back to my RE's office. I like my RE but going to him is like the last straw no idea what else he can do for me I'm just confused.

That does sound kinda weird... I haven't heard of anyone taking Clomid past CD9. Is this your regular OBGYN that you're seeing?

Yes he's my regular OBGYN I have no idea what he's thinking. I think I'm just going to start the clomid tomorrow CD 8 since I took it starting day 7 last month and I did O although chances are when I go for the scan on CD 21 I'll have already O'd lol

Cheri, my honest opinion is that you should see an RE instead of an OBGYN. They do things differently and can better assess what is going on. I took Clomid on CD 5-9 with my OBGYN but on CD 3-7 with my RE. I do recommend seeing an RE, the whole Clomid on CD 14 doesn't sound right at all.

That's my problem I was seeing a RE but I got pregnant then miscarried. My insurance requires three cycles with my OBGYN before going back to the RE. I will be going back to my RE next cycle if no BFP. I do react to clomid better taking it later. As I said I took it starting CD 7 last cycle and had my biggest follicles and more of them then I did when I took it days 3-7. I have no idea what the doctor was thinking today. TTC has become so confusing anymore and to top it off I started spotting today. I've never spotted after an exam before I really hate my body sometimes
