Default Clomid Side Effects

Just a question for you ladies who have taken clomid. If you had side effects from it, when did they occur, and what were they? I didn't have any s/e from clomid, but I started getting side effects about 3dpo that mimic both early pregnancy and clomid. It's been 18 days since my last pill...didn't know if what I was experiencing was just clomid, pregnancy, or even both. TIA!

I'm doing my first round of Clomid right now and I'm not even to the point of ovulation yet...but I have experienced two things: hot flashes and emotional episodes. I wanted to know when it would end and usually the side effects are supposed to last until you ovulate, because that's when the Clomid has done its job and can release. HTH

Hi ladies ~

I'm taking my last Clomid pill today. So far, my side effects have been headaches and hot flashes. Also, I'm feeling really emotional today, so I think it's from the Clomid. I take my pills at night before bed because I read that you may not experience the side effects too badly because you sleep right through them. I think it helps. I don't know what I would do with those hot flashes during the day! They're crazy! This is my first time on Clomid, so I'm wondering if I will only experience side effects for the 5 days I'm taking it, or if it will take a while for them to go away? If anyone has any personal experience I would like to hear, otherwie I will keep you posted about mine.

Clomid side effects include abdominal pain, nausea but these side effects actually increase if you are taking any other medications in combination with clomid. You can find info at International Drug Mart

in terms of side effects with clomid, I haven't had any. I'm now on my third cycle of clomid.

however, the first month I was constipated (embarrasing!) for the week I took it. :/

It has been a few years since I was on Clomid, but it left quite an impression. My s/e were definite hot flashes, sometimes waking up drenched with sweat. I was really emotional and overall, I'm a pretty rational gal. I also gained about 15 lbs in the 3 months I took it.

It was well worth it though, I have a very hyper, fun, 4 year old flying around my house right now, that is a Clomid baby.

Good luck!

Default Clomid Side Effects

I just finished my first round of Clomid and didn't experience any side effects during the time I took the pills. The side effects started appearing after I was off the Clomid & include extreme mood swings & hot flashes, especially first thing in the morning. When I say extreme...that's probably an understatement - worse than I have ever experienced.

Hi ladies!

I can't tell you all again how comforting it is to hear everyone's stories. It's nice to know we're not going through this alone.

LovelySerpent, if you don't mind me asking, how many cycles of Clomid did you have to take before you became pregnant?

juliepea, my mood swings and being emtional didn't show up until I was finishing the Clomid either. I finished them on a Tuesday and I thought I was moody that day, but then Wednesday came and watch out!!!!! It was bad!!!! By Friday, they were pretty much gone except for some crying in the am when I was upset b/c of my acne from the PCOS! The mood swings are definitely the worst side effect (for me)- and people are right - it's like nothing I've ever experienced before. Thankfully, they lasted for about 3 days only.

Yes - it definitely helps to talk about what is going on with our bodies & to know that we are not alone. I had some promising signs of ovulation yesterday and today so I think the Clomid is working. My fingers are crossed that this month works!

In addition to the Clomid, I have also been undergoing acupuncture treatment which is helping to minimize my symptoms of PCOS. Apparently it is suppose to help with conception when paired with fertility treatments or on its own. I think it helps make the medications work better. I had to take Provera to bring on a cycle prior to the Clomid and before I had even finished my 7 day cycle of medication I had my period. My acupuncturist and doctor both have recommended following a low GI diet and trying to exercise regularly all of which also helps with the symptoms of PCOS.

Good luck!

Don't mind at all. It took until my third cycle.

I am on day 3 of my 3rd round of 100mg of Clomid. The first month I grew horns and turned into the devil, had hot flashes and headaches. The second month I was super emotional with the same symptoms as the first month. So far this month I just cry alot..lol.

Thanks but what I am asking is this one of those side effects or signs of pregnancy. Oh and by the way my hot flashes started last night! oh my goodness! They really drive me crazy. Which is cool because I thought my Clomid wasn't working at all until now.
