Clomid starting date

Hi-
I have been prescribed Clomid to take on days 3-7. Do I count my period as starting on a day when I had minor spotting, or full on bleeding? The spotting was very light, just when I used the bathroom (sorry!). The pharmacist said he would count the spotting as day one (but didn't sound so certain), I haven't heard back from my doctor, and I don't know what to do! I want to do everything just right!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As mentioned on most of the websites, the day you need to use a tampon/pad is considered day 1.

My RE just told me on Tues... day 1 is the start of your actual flow, not if you are just spotting! Good Luck!!!
