Question Coconut Oil

I followed this link www.thyroid.about.com from a previous post.
I came across some info about people using coconut oil to help increase their metabolism and loose weight. Just wondering if anyone has tried this? It seems quite interesting to me and I think I may try it.
I would love to hear about your experiences with this.
Thanks.

Hi Trish,

I was reading about this recently, too, but haven't given it a try. Here is a yahoo message board dedicated to coconut oil users (lmao sounds kinda funny doesn't it?):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/coconut-info/messages

Please keep us informed if you do use it, I'm interested to hear if you get any results from it.

Linda

Hey thanks I think I will do some lurking over at yahoo and see what is up. It almost sounds too good to be true. But I like to stay on the positive side of things
I am going to one of the health food stores tomorrow to see if they carry it.

Wink I almost bought some coconut oil recently, too.

I have read some other interesting and positive things about coconut oil benefits. I believe it's a saturated fat but the researchers now think it may be one of the "good fats" because it's saturated but it's not an animal fat. I read some articles which said it was a great source of good fats and that it is delicious when used for cooking as an alternative to butter!

They definitely have it in health food stores. It looks solid-ish and white, not clear. People from the Caribbean swear by it for all kinds of health benefits. I know it also has caprylic acid in it which is used to fight yeast overgrowth (candida).

I'll be very interested to see what you find out or how it works for you if you try it!

I use coconut oil.

I have noticed greater overall vitality. It is also helping me lose weight.

Here is another thread from a while back.

Hey DoorInward
I remember you from PP board. I havent been there in awhile. But I do go lurking here and there.
Thanks for the extra link.
I really haven't started digesting coconut oil yet, but I have been using it as a deoderant and I did use it in place of olive oil for cooking breakfast. I just need to get my hands on some good recipes or find out if someone offers this in capsul formula.
I have decided to get my butt in gear and get back to protien power cause that is really the only thing that did work for me. And I wont let myself be afraid to join "boot camp" either
Thanks again.
