Default cold or hot

Before I had my insulin under control I was always super hot. Summer, winter, or anytime my body temperature seemed hot. Now, that I have been on metformin for a while I was wondering if that is the reason why I am now always freezing. Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

My hands and feet are always cold, but the rest of my body is cold a lot as well. Just an observation. Thoughts.....

same here too...I stayed hot when my sugar was up. Now that I am exercising and eating low carb and taking my met, my temperatures seem to have normalized and I am colder.

Lightbulb Wow!

My mother has been the same way since going on met! She was just blaming it on getting older (she's 71), but now I wonder...

I'm IR and tested "borderline" diabetes years ago. I know I really need to get in to have more bloodwork done, but now that you mention it my menopausal like "hotflashes" and "coldflashes" have decreased now that I have things under more control through diet and supplements. I hadn't realized that until now! Boy were they annoying.

I think you're onto something Andysmom!

I am always hot, and only tend to feel cold when I am unwell, or in Canada in -17... lol I am on Met and Insulin and I am just as hot as I was before being diabetic. This last month I have felt the cold because I have been unwell and am still not right, getting bloods done on Tuesday, maybe that will come up with something... but getting back to the topic I can also generate body heat, if i rub my hands together it feels like i can almost burn them the heat i can generate. Most people I know cant do that and think i am odd... lol
From sept to probably 3 weeks ago i was having hot flashes as well as i had to thin my lining for an op and had zoladex implants which give you hot flashes.... hot flashes ontop of being already hot are not fun at all... i felt like i was standing in flames when it occured...
