There seems to be a lot of good advice on this board so I thought I would ask if anyone knows how to get rid of cold sores. I don't get them very often. I had one in November and now again but aside from that I haven't had one in years.

I am using something called Lipactin an over the counter gel from the pharmacy but it seems to be growing. I heard abreeva is supposed to be good but I dont have the $20 for it at the moment. If I pop the blister will that make it worse?? It seems to be spreading to the inside of my lip too only there its tiny little blisters not one bigger one

Any suggestions?

I have chronic cold sores, and i have found it to be a Lysine deficency. I rub Lysine on the sore, and i try to take oral lysine. I get it at health food stores.

I get them really bad..my entire mouth breaks out and i have to take time off work because I look terrible! Ask your dr. for script of Valtrex. It is safe to use with the meds we take for PCOS. when I feel the tingle, I pop 2 of them immediately, and it suppresses the outbreak. If you don't want to take it, I find that Abreva works the best. it's worth the money because you only use a little of it so it lasts a long time.
