Default cold sweats

Hi all. Hope you can help. I had a very bad case of cold sweats this afternoon and felt very sick. I am guessing it was due to the pizza that I had, but know that it is also a sign of low blood sugar. What foods do you eat when you need food fast. I can't do peanut butter, are there any other good "fixes"?

Brittany

If you're experiencing low blood sugar, it is best to sip some juice or regular soda, just to get some sugar back in your body. I've sometimes nibbled on saltines to help, or sucked on a piece of hard candy. I usually feel better within minutes.

But the best way to avoid it is to skip the high-carb foods (like pizza) that cause an insulin reaction in your body. Easier said than done, I know. I struggle with it daily.

I usually drink some orange juice and it does the trick, but if you do not have that on hand any other juice will do. Are you on Met? If so these suggestions might help ..

1) Take it at the same time everyday
2) Ask your doctor about taking an extended release version or taking
two smaller doses at separate times
3) Take it with a spoonful of peanut butter
4) Avoid leafy and "watery" vegetables such as lettuce and celery
5) Take it during the middle of the meal so that there is food around
it to "cushion" it
6) Take it with a calcium supplement or a large glass of milk
7) Eat yogurt daily
8) Avoid extremely high fat foods and greasy foods
9) Avoid alcohol
10) Keep hydrated
11) Increase your fiber intake

Default icky met

Yeah I have a full gammet of symptoms from stupid met....sick to my stomach, nausea, dizziness, tired...all the usual stuff I think.

I feel like I have eaten all day long. Ate yogurt smoothie thing, sandwich meat, etc etc.. (can't do peanut butter-allergic) and still find myself feeling like bunk but somewhat better than yesterday...so perhaps if I can tough it out a little longer...grrrr

I've been doing all the tips from here (made the mistake of letting someone buy me pizza as I am quitting my current job) sigh...

Can you take tums with metformin?? I know some sites say yes and others say no....just wondering what your thoughts are.

Thank you all for your help and understanding. i get so frustrated when I feel like this and then noone understands....so thank you for at least listening to me.
