sorry if this question is dumb but if by facial and body hair is black why are some of the roots white? Usually when I pluck a hair there is a black "bulb" when the root is. But some of the hair has white roots..is that just a different stage of hair growth?
LOL - I don't have any answers but I know exactly what you mean! At least the white roots don't show up as much when I've been lazy with my maintenance...

The white part you are seeing is part of the hair root that surrounds the bulb. I think it may be protein that has not yet hardened into hair. It is part of every hair on everyone.
I get it too. When I can feel a prickle on my lip or chin, but can't see it in the mirror, its one of those damned white whiskers.
