Default Coloring your hair & hair loss

I still dont take any medication cause i had to re-do my hormone levels so it probably wont be another 3-4 weeks till the whole thing works out and i get my meds.
anyway, my hair is falling out cause of the pcos obviously, and i need to go to the hairdressers asap cause i look horrible. i need a hair cut that will cover up some bald spots and i need to color it cause at the moment i'm sorta orangy-brown with blond strokes....it doesnt look good. my hair looks dead even when i use ''fancy'' shampoos and it looks extra silky.

everyone's telling me that i probably shouldnt color it for some time till it starts growing back. that it will fall out more. but i desperately need to do it.

so my question is to the hair loss cysters - do you still color your hair even though it's falling out or do you use some less aggressive hair color products such as henna?

I have a terrible hairloss but im still coloring my hair.
I have black hair and im coloring it into blue-black, i like the way how its shinny after i colored my hair.

I use some products from a health food store. Its not henna, but also very less aggressiv. The name is PURAVERA, i dont know if you have this overthere. I think its a germanproduct. I love this one.

I still color too. I can't say whether or not I lose more hair after doing it (my hair seems to fall out more as a result of combing/brushing). But it makes my hair look better (shinier, fuller) which makes me look better and ultimately feel better.

puravera sounds very familiar. i'll check it out.

yeah, coloring does make your hair look fuller and shinier and that does make me fell better.

i guess i'm afraid that my hair wont start growing back because i've treated it with color too much or sth like that....

Coloring your hair generally won't cause damage as long as you dont use bleach. I color my hair blonde which does make it look fuller. I just started going to an Aveda salon since their color is supposed to be natural.

I use a demi permanent called Natural Instincts. I was bleaching my hair for a while and it does break off more easily with bleach. Demi permanent seems to not be so harsh on the hair and I do agree that it makes the hair look thicker when you dye it. It lasts about 8-10 weeks but my hair isn't breaking off like it did when I was bleaching it.
