Question Colposcopy w/ biopsy questions....

I'm just looking for answers from cysters who have been through this since I'm having it done Feb. 9.

Basically I just want to know (HONESTLY) what to expect as far as discomfort goes, how long it takes to do it, do they numb the cervix before taking the biopsy etc. Basically your experience.

Here's the history. Last April when I went in for my first OB visit the doc did a pap that came back with mild to moderate dysplasia. He followed up with another pap and a colpscopy but I refused any biopsies. I figured that I was pregnant which was a miracle in itself, I wasn't going to risk losing the baby because of a biopsy....not to mention if the biopsy turned out bad then I would have to debate my health vs. the baby and I couldn't make that decision at the time. Fortunately he said the he didn't see anything during the colposcopy that he was immediately concerned about. He did another one shortly before my due date and said we'd schedule another one for biopsy purposes post-partum. So that brings us to now.

Any input would be apprecited.

THANKS!!

I've had it done 2 times, truthfully it felt like a bad af but once it was done i felt fine they put something on the cervix at one dr's office to numb it but the other dr didn't so i guess it depends on different dr's, i can't remember how long it took the first one wasn't long at all but the 2nd one was because he took a biopsy from inside of my uterus also now that HURT they didn't tell me they where doing that....
Anyway good luck and i hope everything turns out ok that waiting sucks.... Diane
