Has anyone been prescribed Clomid in conjunction with an injectible fertility med to induce ovulation? My RE gave me this as an option and just wondered how common it is, if it has been successful...
I have heard of several on this board that used that method, but I can't remember who it was. I hope they see your post.
Good luck!

I have just taken one month of clomid but I had the pregnol injection with it too.
On my clomid I get monitored. On CD13 I go for a blood test and they test to see how high my estrogen is. Mine was over 200 so the next day I went for another blood test and an ultrasound so they could see the follie.
CD14: I had an ultrasound and my estrogen was over 800 so I went back the next day because she said my egg should have released and didn't. I had the shot on CD15 and was instructed to BD for the next 3 days.
Unfortunately it didn't work that month (November) and December she was closed. Remember once you do this your chances become better but it may not work the first time.
AF is on her way and I will start my next month of clomid. They like to use the injection because that way they can guarantee the egg releases, without monitoring you are taking a chance that it won't. You can become overstimulated that way.
My view is: Why pay for something if I don't know is working. The monitoring is a little inconvenient but worth it when I'm spending the money on the drug.
Hope this helps. Let me know what you decide to do.
Good luck and **babydust** to you.

ME, ME!!! Both of my pg's were a result of a combo of clomid & Metrodin and Clomid & Gonal-F! My RE said that it's really common in other countries but that drs here are just starting to catch on (of course, this was said 7 years ago!). Incidentally, my Re at the time was not from the US.
I went through 5 years of fertility treatments with either clomid alone or injectibles alone before trying the combo. ( I switched drs). The third cycle I was pg. When we tried a second time, I got pg the first month.
I am glad to hear of your great fortune while combining Clomid and injectible meds. I had never heard of it and am wondering why my RE did not try this combination before. I have had ten unsuccessful Clomid cycles, nine before I got pregnant on Follistim and Metformin(no Clomid) in 2000. Now we're back to using the Clomid again, on which I have never ovulated. It's just so frustrating.
Do you remember if you took the Clomid and the Gonal-F at the same time or did your dr add the Gonal-F after the Clomid?
I took Clomid days 3-5 and then the Gonal-F. Somewhere around here I have my exact protocol if you'd like to see it. I keep everything !lol I'm off to bed now but if you want me to dig it out, just let me know and I'll try to do it tomorrow.
