Hi Scapoodle-

He has my mom on whey and my dad and I on soy. He created the formulas for all of his supplements and stuff (he is a scientist and has been working on this stuff for 40 years) but the ingredients in the soy one are: soya protein powder, vanillin flavors, licorice root, papain, bromelain, and pacific kelp. It says 2 TBLS is 27 grams of protein. But I make it with 1 Tbls and add psyllium powder and stractan to it (both powders, one is for your immune system and one is to fill you up/decrease appetite). He has me making it with abt. 3/4 cup of ruby red grapefruit juice. It tastes pretty good.

He does iridology which is when they analyze the geometric sections of the eye to see how your organs/body systems are functioning. I was skeptical but my mom said just wait and listen. It was amazing what how accurate he was (he does this before he even sits and talks to you). So he creates a diet plan specific for what your body needs. Then in 12 weeks he will reexamine me and will likely change things, such as adding some whole grain stuff, less supplements, etc.

One thing I love is that he has called me twice to see how I am, see if I have questions, etc. Tomorrow I am scheduled to meet with his daughter who is an m.d. (he thought she would be more helpful with the reproductive issues), a homeopath, and the acupuncturist. So you get a lot of perspectives and a lot of support.

I have tried EVERY diet plan out there and I have to say, as reluctant as I was, it is really working. But that being said, I know it is unconventional and not for everyone.

I am still on the Met though, even though he wasn't crazy about it. He said it was up to me. But the past two months, I did get AF on my own, so I was reluctant to stop it. Hoping these healthy changes + met will result in a BFP!!!

Best of luck to you!
Sharon

Hi Gals,
Sorry I've been MIA for so long, I just haven't gotten a chance to get on the site. We have been planning non stop for a wedding that just went down (at our house!) so that took a lot of time and energy. It sounds like we're all doing pretty well?

I want to challenge you guys to have a "perfect eating day" just to prove that you can. For one day, eat what you know is good for you, in moderate portions and really and truly enjoy that feeling as you slide into bed that night that you did it. For even 1 day, you did it. And then maybe day #2 you can do well too. I'm not talking perfect every day, just one day to PROVE to yourself that you gots it in ya!

I want to hear back!

Chelsea, would you believe I actually had one of those today??? BEFORE I saw your message even! LOL I swear it's true! I didn't even realize it until I read your post and thought about it, and then I was like, "hey..... I think I did that today!!!"

However, since you laid out that challenge so nicely AFTER I had already done it, I'm going to do it again, to prove that I can do it consciously! I'll let ya know!

Great idea for a perfect eating day...I think we need to take things one day at a time more...I tend to think I have to be perfect every day or nothing at all...you're a great motivator!

Default Hellooooo!!!!!

Ladies, where are you?? I have good news! I went to the gynie on Monday and I'm down 15 lbs since 4/17!!! Excited about it. Yes I am. I'm happy. Goal - - 10 more lbs by my birthday in September. I am so happy. I can't fall off. I have to do this. Bad news?! Because of my painful periods, she wants to do an ultrasound on Monday and then a laparoscopy on Friday of next week. I am scared as hell! Ladies help me please. I do not like going under an anestetic for any thing. I'm frightened. I do not want endometriosis. Is this a sign that I will never be a mother? It's about to drive me crazy. I've read the endo thread here and it gives me some comfort but . . . I don't know.

I have family reunion this weekend and I am so not in the mood for these people!! Can they just stay at home?! My cycle is due tomorrow or Saturday.

So here's where you all are! I lost you for a while. I just got back from vacation so I'm restarting SBD as of today.
Chelsae I like your challenge! Just like Bells, I had a similar idea before reading this. I was thinking of creating a ticker to track how many days I stick to the program. You know, eat only from the food lists and no sneaky treats!
Scapoodle-Congrats on the weight loss. That's great! I don't know much about laparoscopy but I hope it goes well.

Hi ladies. I know it's a little late but I was hoping I could join you. I love the spirit of this thread- way to go Chelsae! I am more about healthy lifestyle than the losing weight at the moment as we are about to start IVM so I can't be on a strict diet. I can however make sure I am only eating good carbs and fat and tons of fruit and veg and work out until the egg collection/ embryo transfer. So today is a new start for me! I am getting this body ready for a healthy pregnancy/ baby starting now.

Scapoodle: I had a laparoscopy in November last year. You will be just fine. And I think it is always better to know exactly what is going on in your body so you can fix it should there be a problem. It is quite a quick procedure and I was able to go home about 4 hours after the surgery (I had ovarian diathermy and a hysteroscopy done at the same time). Wishing you lots of luck- not that you are going to need it!

Thanks Laura. I went in for the u/s and she said I had the picture perfect reproductive organs! No cysts, lumps, bumps, nothing! So she canceled the laparoscopy. Boy, was I a happy child! She said that pain could have been anything, stress, IBS, and that I am to follow up in 6 months. If I have another one like that then she's going in. It might have been stress that caused the pain. It was around the time my beau left me, financial struggles, . . my life was a hot mess. But now my focus is these 10 lbs!
