Angry Is it common to have a bad recation to met?

I have tried Met three differnt times in the last 5 years. My doctor thinks Met is the best drug for PCOS. I've been on 1500 to 2000. I am afraid to go out anywhere that I can't reach a bathroom in 2 mins when on it. It causes me to have urgent need to #2 "tmi" and it's just awful. I also feel ill on it. I keep hearing how wonderful it is. I also have never gotton AF or lost weight on it. I wish it did not cause me these side effects. I have been on it up to 6 months the side effects were the same doctor said they would go away. My doctor recently started me on glucotrol instead. The glucotrol made my sugar drop to 46. I stoped taking that to it made me feel ill and it droped my sugar to fast, that never happend on the met. I don't know if I should just deal with the met side effects to see if I get some benifit from it or just try something else again. I never hear of other PCOS women having such bad bowel problems on met is this unusual?

I was having the same issues with the Met. I was only on it for 3 months though. I was feeling really ill all the time like my body was losing control of everything. I was also having the problems with running to the bathroom every few minutes. I started to see another Dr and he put me on Gloucophage XR. I have not had 1 side effect of this. It has been working very well for me. I can't even tell that i'm taking anything.

I hope you feel better soon!!!

I had problems with met until I tried changing what I ate and then it got a lot better. I still can't eat anything too fatty or I'm in the bathroom all night, but besides that no more digestion issues here.

I had SEVERE problems with Met. 1st time I was put in the hospital. 2nd time (2 years later) I had severe rectal bleeding. I was on low doses too. I now take Actos with NO side effects.
