Default Company magazine

In this months (April Issue) of Company magazine it has a feature on PCOS.

To be honest I wasn't that impressed with it. It made it sound like dealing with PCOS is fairly easy and doesn't have much effect on your life. Which I'm sure you'll all agree isn't strictly true! They had 4 or 5 case studies, most of whom seemed to have only mild symptoms. None of them told of their battles with excess hair, which is my main problem with PCOS. I know its different from idividual to individual, but having on of their case studies on hair would have helped explain to those who know nothing or think they have PCOS.
The difficulty in getting diagnosed was only touched on briefly by one lady. She
talked of her difficulties in getting pregnant, but after a few years of trying ended up concieving naturally. I feel someone who had to have IVF, or at least have the point of fertility issues, could also have been made.

Jane Danson (?) who played Leanne Battersby in Coronation Street was one of the case studies. She said she was tired a lot and went to her doctors where she got diagnosed with PCOS. She then went on to point out that she only made a few simple adjustments to her diet and everything was fine and she's getting on with life fine. Alright for some!

So, not really the best article I've seen on PCOS. For those who know nothing about PCOS I feel they won't have gotten a clear idea of what really is involved.

There was a PCOS diet mentioned called Vitaline
Has anyone tried this, and was it successful? I'm currently seeing a dietician, but its just general healthy eating she's getting me working on. It's not a diet designed to help PCOS in anyway.

I'm currently on the vitaline diet. Its been alright for me so far. I lost 9 pounds in the first week. Its the best diet that I have been on. I have real big probs loosing the weight, and I get bored very easy. But this diet is ok. I thought about ww, but I really couldn't be bothered with all that counting. So this diet works for me. A couple of the cysters have also started this diet since I told them about it.

Take care

Bex

Thanks for your opinion about it Bex. I'm the same really - I find dieting boring and would rather not! Like the idea of having personalised menus. Most diets contain foods I don't like. Think I'm going to go ahead and do it.

Thats great, let me know how you get on. The weight is now going off slow, but I dont care its going. I'm not going to give up now. It is hard at times, like af time for me last time. But you'll know that diets are not easy whatever diet you do.

Good Luck

Take care
