Hi everyone!
After five years of speculating that i had PCOS , i went for an ultrasounds yesterday and have been diagnosed with having PCOS. I initially went for an ultrasound three years ago while on the dianette because i had, and continued to have, extreme pain in my left hand side, which my GP thought was a cyst on my ovaries, but nothing showed up and i continued on dianette up until last year when i went off it. I had no period for an entire year, and only after the year did my gp send me for bloods, which promted me to see an endochronologist and go for another ultrasounds. I do not have that much excess hair, just a bit on my belly, side of my face. Since coming off dianette i have gone up a stone, but weight watchers has helped me regain control. However, the pain that i recieve sometimes is so extreme that i feel weak. I also have an incredible sweet tooth and my diet is appalling, i have also been on medication for my skin for the last year. Im so glad that there is now an explanation, and im equally glad to have found this site

however, i will admit to shedding a few tears for reasons that i cant really understand myself. I am reluctant to go back on the pill, and have been prescribed some pill called prevaro or something to kick start menstruation, but how do women with PCOS deal with contraception? I am only 19 and I also feel stifled in that the only person i have told is my boyfriend, im almost embarrassed admitting it to my friends again for reasons which i dont know. I would love to hear people feedback on my experience with it, especially regarding the pain in my side, once again so happy i found this site
