Complicated Septated Cyst-Can it go away? I was recently diagnosed with a 3cm complicated septated cyst in my right ovary. It was discovered with an US after another ovarian cyst burst. I was diagnosed with PCOs in 2003. I have a known two and a half-year history of large simple cysts in both ovaries.
I saw a new gyn specialist and he indicated that he would like to watch and wait and see if it goes away in 2-4 weeks. He would also like to put me on bcp, but it would interfere with other medical concerns that I have. If the cyst/tumor is not gone in 2-4 weeks, he will recommend surgery. He also believes that I have endometriosis.
Is it possible for a complicated septated cyst (both fluid and solid) to dissolve on its own? Should I wait to see if it goes away? I would rather not jump @ surgery. I was glad that my doctor decided to be conservative and wait to see if it goes away.
Has anyone had a complicated (complex) septated ovarian cyst? From what I have read, this type of cyst usually does not go away and requires surgical evaluation.
I would be interested in any information or experiences that you may share. Thank you!
Meri
