Question Confirmed pregnancy and NPC

Hi ladies,

If you remember, a couple of weeks ago I started using MPC to bring on AF,,,and just spotted two days...well
I found out yesterday that I am pregnant.

My progesterone level is up 23.

Do I need to keep using it????

Hey Mika

As you already heard I am pregnant too. I plan to continue using the cream. I am going to find out the amounts and I'll let you know.

Thanks Crystal,

Are you still using it now?

The nurse said my P4 was 23 so I didn't need suppositories.
But I'm concerned that my p4 is up due to the cream and I should keep using it.

Mika

No I am not still taking it. I've been off of it for awhile now but I think I am going to start back up on it anyways. Here are the instructions for use while pregnant:

Use 1/2 to 3/4 tsp 2x day from conception until 2 wks before scheduled due date. Apply to belly, breasts, lower back, and upper thighs. This is to help with stretch marks. Using this is also supposed to ease morning sickness which is due from lack of progesterone during pregnancy.

I got this info from the pamphlet that came with my cream (Happy PMS).

Alright, I hope this helps you. I plan to begin the above tomorrow morning.

I don't believe that NPC is needed after week 12 of pregnancy - this is when the placenta takes over hormone production and progesterone increases dramatically in the body up to 10 times or more the amount during the first trimester by the time you deliver.

Also, the standard protocol for Prometrium progesterone supplementation by GYN's is to stop at 10-12 weeks too.
