Well, at least your confused doc has referred you to an endo. You need to have a free T3 and a free T4 test done (you only mentioned T4, and it is likely that was a full T4, not a "free" one) in order to see how much thyroid hormone your body is actually using. You can have normal T4 but low T3, meaning your body isn't converting T4 to T3. T3 is the "metabolism" thyroid hormone, and when it's low you can feel like crap. Your TSH is high, meaning your pituitary is working overtime to tell your thyroid to produce more hormone, and since you have symptoms it probably means that either you're not converting to T3 and/or your free T4 is actually low but your doc didn't bother to test it (the free T3 and free T4 should be at least midway in the lab range, but upper quadrant is optimal).
A normal or elevated progresterone level is not enough to rule out PCOS either. There are many other tests and signs to take into consideration, and an endo will be better able to help you with that.
Good luck in getting the treatment you need,
Linda
