I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 yrs old, Im 27 now & ive had no help from my Drs at all, they just told me to live with it, up untill now I have coped pretty well I think but as I get older im finding it hard to cope with it.

Since ive been using this web site ive found out there are different drugs i can be taking, id like someone to give me any advice or help.

I feel so alone & depressed, thought about taking the chickens way out a lot of times, but im too much of a chicken to do that lol

So any help would be grateful or if i had someone to talk about how i feel would be good, my family & friends are great, but they dont know how i feel

Hi Twinkly
Welcome to Soulcysters. You've definitely come to the right place! The women here are very helpful and friendly, so you can ask as much as you want and someone will have an answer for you.

If you're getting no luck with your gp, change to a new one and ask for a referral to an endocrinologist. That's the best person to help you out. Gps can't always prescribe the drugs you need, but a consultant can.
Good Luck!

THx for getting back to me, i feel relived that there is some where i can come & talk & have a good cry with people who know i feel.

Im trying to start up a self help group in my area but not sure how to go about it, my gp said it would be good as there r many women with it in my area

Default Welcome

Twinkly,

you definitely have come to the right place. There is also an Irish website www.pcosireland.com where Irish cysters have posted questions to find out information and everyone gets support and help.

Of course this website is brilliant too and I am so glad that Ive found it, Ive so much information now I am buried alive! Ha!

I would also recommend going into the chat room - I have found this invaluable and have made some new friends and have learnt a lot. We are all in the same boat, trying different procedures and treatments. Myself Im going for ovarian drilling on Monday and so many cysters have reassured me and Im not even scared in fact I am almost excited as I feel I am on the road ttc.

You can email me if you wish and we can keep in touch.

Im at helenquinn@eircom.net and I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or worries.

All the best

Helen
