Can you have your menstral cycle every month and still have pcos? My dr told me years ago that I have pcos. I have many of the symptoms, and it use to be true that I didnt get a visit every month from af. However for the past...almost two years af pays a visit regularly. So i'm thinking maybe my symptoms such as hair growth hair loss acne, and weight gain may be caused by something else. This is such a confusing syndrome....arrrrr@pcos

i've had periods regularly for a year now, but still have other symptoms, such as acne and facial hairs. i don't know, technically, at what point they say one has pcos or not. i definitely think that i still have the predisposition for it, though, and if i let my diet get out of hand or stopped exercising i'd probably be back to where i was 2 years ago. and i'd probably end up diabetic or with heart disease earlier in life because i have a family hx of that. i'm trying to ward it off as long as possible and have a healthy life.

You can have regular periods and have PCOS. You can be thin, have no extra facial hair, and/or not experience male-pattern hair loss, too. Some of us have trouble getting pregnant, others don't. It IS very confusing!

The only thing I know for sure is that following a healthy carb diet (whole grains, fruits, veggies, protein, brown rice, whole wheat) helps me tremendously. Some women need more help (and I did after my first pregnancy), which is why so many of us are on Metformin.

i'm 43 and have always had an incredibly regular and comfortable, light period - no pain, no clots, no nothing.

but i have some extra hair, some balding, and had a hard time getting pregnant, then had two miscarriages. finally had a baby at 35, after trying for 10 years. i have the excess abdominal fat, and am pre-diabetic.

my pcos is a little milder than my sister, mother's and one aunt's, but i still qualify
