I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and my Dr. put me on spiro and Yasmin and said my Total Testosterone was very elevated.(all other tests normal) I noticed many of you take Metformin which also helps lower testosterone. However I am not IR, not overweight (very thin) and my sugar levels are are always perfect. Could I have a sensitivity to insulin and maybe benefit from Met, or do you think the spiro and yasmin will do the trick?
You probably don't need to be on metformin if you are thin and definitely not insulin resistant. Met doesn't lower testosterone directly. However spiro actually does reduce testosterone, and Yasmin will give you some more girly hormones that will hopefully help the balance as well. Good luck with your treatment. You will be fine
