Question confused

I am just confused. I got DX with PCOS last year and my blood level must be fine becasue I got blood taken again the begining of this year. They didnt say anything was wrong. so I know all that is ok. I Know I have more male hormones . So I am taking birth control pills to get my period more.

I see alot of you are taking meds ,but all I am taking is birth control pills. I feel like I should be taking somthing or doing somthing else. Am I just being paranoid? Maybe I should get my blood test done again and blood pressure taken. Sombody else on a diffrent board said birth control bill is just a ban aid and I should be taking somthing else and vitamins. Can someone tell me what I should be asking my dr for my next vist (which is tuesday).

Your meds will depend on your particular symptoms, and your goals. There is no 'one size fits all' Rx for PCOS.

Like the post above mine, it all depends on your symptoms, but if you're feeling really insecure about it, maybe you should ask your doctor to put your mind at ease.

Oh I see..I guess mine isn't as bad ..as of right now. I am worrying myself to death here. I guess I just have to stick with the birth control ,but can I take somthing to lower the male hormone? I am trying to think of questions to ask her. Maybe you guys can help me out. I have 2 so far.. 1. Is there any meds or vitamins i should be taking other then bc?
2. skin drs that know about pcos and who can treat it.

I was going ask about my chances of getting diabites but I can answer that myself. I just got to watch what I eat. Maybe I can ask if she can recomend diets?

Yes, there are several options available.

Check down in the HAIR forum...you'll see talk of:

"Spiro" (same as aldactone), and also "flutamide". Both meds are anti-androgens.

There are some other options, but your doctor should be able to help decide which is best for you.
