I was told I had significant PCOS. I was diagnosed with blood work and utrasound. My doctor says that my hormones are within normal range. I have slightly elevated cholesterol and my blood pressue was high during my last doctors appointment. My blood sugar was normal. The doctor told me that the best method to treat my PCOS is to get on birth control pills to shut down my ovaries. Since my blood pressue was so high during my last visit she suggested the GI diet and exercise until it is returns to a healthy range. I have always had thin hair so I wasn't really concerned about it, until my doctor pointed it out to me. I also have excessive hair on my face and body which is a major blow my self-esteem. Anyway I was just wondering if I should just accept my doctors treatment plan for me or are there other medications that I should consider that would help me. It is my understanding that birth control pills will slow down the hair growth and loss, but my sister has been on birth control pills and her hair is even more thin than mine. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi , You don't say how old you are I'm 33 and my blood pressue is high and nothing lowers it no amount of wieght loss or diet . I can not take BC .I'm taking spiro and it has help a lot with the hair and it lowers my blood pressure .
