Default Confused about Provera

Is it suppose to make you ovulate? Or is it suppose to just give you a period with no ovulation.

Doesn't make you ovulate. Just helps you to shed your lining and have a 'period' much like you'd have from BCPs.

As previous poster said, it only gives you a period (actually a withdrawal bleed) and no ovulation.

The PP's are right...

it pumps your body full of 'Progesterone' (a synthetic one) and then once you stop taking the Provera your body notices the sudden halt and has a 'withdrawl' bleed... it's like a period and will then give you the oportunity to ovulate.

HTH!
