Exclamation Confused - can anyone help?

Hello everyone,

I'm Sam and and new to the forum.

I went to my GP a couple of months ago with the following symptoms:

Irregular periods
Excess hair - upper lip, chin, lower abdomen
Intermenstrual bleeding
Skin tags
Weight gain

She suggested PCOS. I had blood tests done and all came back clear, but she insisted that as i was symptomatic and should have a vaginal scan.

Had this done today and the results were as follows:

Heterogenous uterus 80 x 53 mm containing small intramural fibroids, largest 13mm

Both ovaries appear polycystic, however the ovarian volume appears to be within normal range. Left ovarian volume 8mls. Right ovarian not measured due to presence of dominant follicle.

What could this mean? Obviously I have to see my GP but they can't offer me an appointment until mid September.

Just wondering of any of you can shed any light - especially on the right ovary dominant folicle.

Many thanks,

Sam

the dominant follicle could mean you have one large follicle (cyst), maybe ovulation time?

Good luck, but with the mention of cystic ovaries, and your symptoms, sounds to me like pcor.
