Hi to all, where to start?..... I was sterilised in October 2003 and from April/May 2004 I started getting extreme pain in lower right pelvis - as it was infrequent at first I ignored it. Then towards August last year the pain got more intense to the point of me doubling over and having to crawl up the stairs as I couldn't stand up straight. The pain can last anything from 10 minutes to the last bad attack which lasted for 24 hours
I went to see the Doctor in September and finally got in for an ultrasound scan in December - while I was having the scan, the nurse said she couldn't see anything wrong with my right ovary. I went back to the doctors a week or so later to be told that the hospital had sent the results back saying I should be tested for PCOS so I had blood tests done - all have come back normal - blood count, hormone levels etc., The GP has now referred me to a gynaecologist so waiting for that appointment to arrive . I dont understand if this means I DO have pcos or that they aren't sure anymore? The only symptoms I have are the pain (always on the right side!), excess belly fat and a couple of hairs under me chin - my periods are fine.
The doc did say to go on the bcp but the reason I got sterilised was because of all the bleeding problems I had on the pill and injection - after having 3 kids I figured sterlisation was the best option for me. So I have refused to go on bcp, whats the point if my periods are fine?
Do these sound like symptoms of pcos or do I have a doc who's equally as confused as me about what is wrong with me? lol
Thanks
