Points: 1,209.89 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,209.89 | Confused.+OPK but no O??? My opk on cd14 was very distinctly positive. 2 lines with the test darker than the control. I swear I even felt strange things inside me which I thought was O for sure. Progesterone tests showed only 2.3 on day 21 so no O. Does this happen often on clomid? I'm on 50mg but getting bumped up to 100mg next week when I will have to take provera to bring on af again. Should I not bother with opk's if they are giving false readings on clomid? Also, this might sound silly but can you 'almost' ovulate and feel that because I swear something was going on for a couple of days. Could it be side effects of the drug. I also had very bad skin 2 days after +opk and it was itchy. Thanks for any feedback. I'm still fairly new to all of this. |

Did you have EWCM at the same time?

My Mood: Points: 285.05 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 285.05 | Ive had this happen before also, I think on the cycles that this has happened, I had the lh surge but it maybe wasn't enough or something b/c Ive gone on to o later in the cycle afterwards and again have pos. opk at that time also. Frustrating I know. Ugh.

My Mood: Points: 12,037.07 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,037.07 | It's too bad OPK's can be more reliable but it says right on the directions that they are not always accurate for women with PCOS. Most women have success using a combo of OPK's, temping, and keeping charts, and checking for CM. Good luck to ya!!

Points: 948.37 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 948.37 | Just wanted to second what the pp said. My RE asked me to start doing cross checks with temps, opks, a fertility monitor, and charting cm. In my case, my temps were spiking a few days before ovulation, but I never would have known that if I hadn't started doing all the other stuff and saw that my temps were out of order with everything else. Also, I think Clomid makes you a little more twinge-y. I never used to feel ovulation before Clomid, and now I get a lot of those sorts of twinges throughout my cycles on Clomid. Good luck to you!

My Mood: Points: 622.08 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 622.08 | I think MissChrystal is right, the paper in the OPK box says Clomid and PCOS can cause false positives. I just ordered a saliva microscope this week because I just can't rely on OPK's. I don't think the microscopes are affected by anything but I could be wrong. It will be interesting to see anyway. I finally ovulated on cd54 but only BD 3 days before because I didn't believe my +OPK!! Probably missed that boat!

Points: 1,457.51 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,457.51 | I have abnormally high LH due to the PCOS so whenever I take the OPKs they turn positive.
you could have boarder line LH and if you have a tiny bit more in your system that day it will turn the test positive. I second the PP that clomid makes you twinge-y...Hang in there! |
