Default Confused: Progesterone Blood Test

Hello I recently found out I had PCOS after 2 years of trying to get pregnant. my gyno prescribed Clomid and I on Monday I went for my Progesterone test. My results were 2.1 is that extremely bad? When I called for the results the nurse almost made me cry by saying "don't worry love I have seen results lower than that" she proceeded to tell me the doc will follow up. Can someone tell me what a normal reading is and until i hear from the dr. what can I do to increase the numbers?

I wish I could help you with what the numbers mean... here is a link to a website that has info about the test... http://www.labtestsonline.org/unders...rone/test.html
You might be able to google up some values to find out what your 2.1 means...
wish I could help you more, it stinks having to wait for the doctor while your brain stews over it!

It is my understanding that progesterone levels Fluctuate greatly - and so it will depend on which cycle day the blood was drawn for the test. It might be helpful for future posters to know, if you happen to know -- what day in your cycle the test was done and perhaps how long that cycle was.

For info on hormonal levels - what is normal and a brief explanation, Try this: http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hormonelevels.html -- also please notice at the bottom there is a picture/chart that shows how hormones fluctuate during a normal cycle
