Default Confused! What constitutes a "thin" cyster?

Hi everyone,
Maybe one of you can answer this for me. I am 5'7" and 143# (About 135-140 pre-pregnancy--my son is 8 mos). I certainly do NOT feel thin but I also don't feel like I fit in with a lot of the other groups. I also wouldn't call myself overweight, but I seem to be much thinner than everyone that I've met with PCOS. I was always in the 120's until these sx's kicked in about 5 or 6 years ago.
Where do I belong?

Here is as good a place as any! I think the definition of a thin cyster is one for whom dramatic weight loss is not an option for treatment. So although some of us could stand to lose a few pounds, we're not unhealthily overweight. Welcome to the board!

i second jessica's definition. though there are very thin cysters on this board, for whom gaining weight is an issue, there are also those of us who are at the higher end of the healthy body mass index spectrum. i'm not to concerned about losing weight, though i could stand to lose a few pounds. it's not really part of my daily thoughts though, nor am i dieting, or considering dieting.

welcome to our board!

Smile I AM A THIIN CYSTER TOO!

This is my very first post to the any of the message boards. I am always researching the PCOS.
I have always felt somewhat misdiagnosed... even though I see my levels I haven't had any weight problems... only when I have been on the pill did I gain weight uncontrollable. I can eat pretty much whatever I want without any weight gain... that isn't to say that the carbs I dearly love don't do damage to my PCOS system..... any way..............

Overall it is nice to know that there are thin cysters out there!!!

I look forward to future activity on the message boards!

Default my 2 cents

I think if you have to ask: you are one!
We all seem to have trouble with the matter of body image in this day and age. Thin is not Gwyneth-Paltrow-Anne-Heche-thin (that is very thin), thin is having a healthy weight(I think JLow would work for this example) that works for you.

I myself find that it is hard to adjust to a better image of my own shape. I was in the 70 Kilo (155lbs) range for a long time (@5'4). So now that I am (was) down to 125lbs (56kg) I am still schlepping the "I feel fat" image with me. That is what I see in the mirror, and I don't recognize myself in pictures (that can't be me, that person is too thin)but I am working on it. (good thing this prgnancy thing came right on time... now I get to go back up to 155... :-( )

Time to wake up ladies, thin is YOU! Especially if you have to ask, because then you were already wondering if you were thin :-) (good job you are, you are half way to a better body image for your self :-) )

and just remember, weight is all relative...I loose two pounds when I weigh myself with dry hair versus wet hair ;-).

Just a thought.
