Default Confused....... whether to wait or D&C ! Please help!!

I have posted this in "Pregnancy" Board as well.....

Ok, Last week Thu, we went to routine check up & u/s at 9w4d. But Dr told that there was no heartbeat. It was there at 7weeks which counted 139.

From that day i am really confused, sad, disappointed ... as Dr will be only back on Wed.... She has given us 2 options of natural m/c or D&C... If we go for D&C she told that she will do another u/s.....

Today I went to check the hcg levels, the result will be back on tommorow..... Don't know what to think.... I din't had much symptoms from 1st itself.. but i feel the existing symtoms like sore boobs & extreme hungerness are disappeared....

I got some answers like D&C is the better option than natural....
I am confused b'se when i see the info about D&C there are some risks too......if we wait scared about the more bleeding....so scared what to do. It has been 5 days already.... I feel i can not take it anymore... no bleeding or nothing so far. My bbt is still up there in the right place.....

Please give me some advice what to do - like whether to wait or D&C ? I had 1 natural m/c at 6wks in last FEB..

Thanks in advance....

Default D&C vs natural, been where you are

HI hon,

I'm new around here and have been right where you are.

My opinion is go with D&C and make them give you
both a transvaginal and extrernal ultrasound before hand.

I lost my baby at 10 weeks, and did not start having a natural
mc till 19 weeks. By that time I was becoming septic, had gotten a bloody nose and severe head aches. The night when I could'nt go any longer I was hemoraging but my cervix was not dialating.

Go D&C, but make them give you those ultrasounds first.

I hope for a miracle, and wish you the best.

I just went through this and found out when I was also 9w4d that there was no h/b when just a week & a 1/2 before there was. Basically my dr. told me that all though there were risks (which I was concerned about too), the greater risk was letting it go by itself w/o a D&C b/c there is a risk of hemeraging and he said that he would rather do it himself then have me rush to the ER and have a dr. that I didn't know do it.

I know it's a very hard decision to make. I thought about it and decided that I would rather have my own dr do my D&C than have a dr that I didn't know do it under emergency conditions. It's been almost 3 weeks since mine and I didn't have any complications. I also had 4 gestational sacs so I did have a much higher risk than the "normal" D&C. My only issue now is that my hCG levels are still @ 1,860 so we have to see if they'll keep going down on their own or not.

{{{{HUGS}}}} I know it's such a hard decision

In my own experience, the D&C was easier on us physically and emotionally, because I got closure sooner, and my body healed sooner (the bleeding stopped, etc.) I just didn't want to wait around for the inevitable. Give the decision a lot of thought and talk to DH.
