Question Confusing Update

As promised, here are the results of the doctor's visit today. They did a scan and found that nothing has changed. The bleeding has totally stopped now and there has been no pain or cramping. She saw that the sac was still in the same place as it was before and she even commented about how round it looked. Which is really confusing because she said that it was squished looking the day before. She was starting to think that the pregnancy was cervical, in other words ectopic, and that I could lose my uterus. She got an ultasound specialist to see me. He saw the gestational sac(he called it amniotic), the fetus and the yolk sac. He said that he also saw bleeding around the sac. He said that the pregnancy was intrauteran and that I had already miscarried. He started talking to the doctor to sent me to him about scheduling a "light" d&c. They wanted to take my hcg level again to see if they were starting to go down now. Well guess what?!! They aren't! In fact, they are increasing at a normal rate. She called and said that they will be taking my hcg level again in the morning and will have a team of doctors to look over my case to see what is going on. She said that it could be stunted growth or the baby is slow growing. I'm still confused as to why she thinks that when she said the sac measured normally for how far along I am supposed to be. She is not so sure now that i'm miscarrying. Physically it looks like it, but my numbers keeping rising...I don't know what is going on. She said that they might have been wrong. I really don't know whether to be happy or to be afraid... By the way, I mistyped my numbers yesterday...i said 5329 and 7205... when they are actually 5229 and 7305...anyway, I guess i'll be posting more tomorrow...

I'm not sure why you are still subjecting yourself to these docs. Either they have no idea what they are doing, or the communication problems are insurmountable. Can't you get yourself back home?

I am so sorry for the uncertainty you are going through. When I had my m/c 2 years ago, I had bleeding, went in for the u/s saw a normal baby with a heartbeat and one week later, I m/ced.

I really understand your emotional rollercoaster. I went from seeing bleeding to "knowing" I was m/c, only to get my hopes up by the u/s, then to have everything come crashing down. I really, really, really hope you get a happy ending.

I'll be praying for good things for you tomorrow,

Kim

Default I'm sorry!

I hate incompetent doctors!

I'm with Aviva, is there anyway you can get home? Even paying out of pocket would be worth it for real medical care...

(((Hugs)))

The problem is that I don't have any insurance in the US. If I miscarry on my way home, there is no way that I can pay for the treatment i'd need. So, i'm really stuck between a rock and a hard place. I called the medicaid plus office to find out if they would cover me if I apply from here. They said I had to apply from the US and that it takes 15 days. They said I could get a temporary card from birthright once I get a positive urine test, but i'm not sure that they would cover me if I miscarry. I have another ultrasound scheduled for October 25th. I will start making plans to leave around that time. If i'm miscarrying, then i'll wait until that is over. If i'm not then I will get on the first plane out of here. I'm just scared about what to do if I do miscarry without medicaid in the US.
