Default Connection?

I have so many weird things going on with me lately, I wonder if anyone can offer me any insight...

Around June a lymph node on the right side of my neck started swelling. Doctor said it was probably allergies and should go down eventually, but to call him if it got larger or started hurting.

Then somewhere around August I started getting a series of yeast infections. Never had them before but I figured I'm a woman enough, it's time. I had 3 over the course of a few months until the third didn't clear up with Monistat, so I assumed it was BV and went to the ER here.

The ER doctor thought it was chlamydia because I tested neg. for BV, yeast, and trich, but I had cervicitis and a slew of white blood cells in that area. She gave me a Rx just in case, but when I called the ER back a few days later, someone else told me I had BV instead and gave me a new Rx.

I finished the antibiotics last week and still wasn't feeling 100% better, but I thought maybe it would take a while...I'm still not up to 100% and while I was on the medication, my lymph node got bigger! I think it went down a bit but it's still bigger than it's been since June. Meanwhile I still feel somewhat itchy, irritated, and have discharge.

I'm seeing my gyno in a couple weeks (for other reasons) when I get back from school, and my mother is going to make an appt. with her GP to get my lymph node checked again. But is this some weird connection?

I know a few people who have had problems with lymph nodes and my mom just recently went through a scare with a number of things causing problems.

I would go see a Naturopath if you can, they look at things with a holistic approach and I know many people that have had things taken care of while other doctors scratched their heads.

I don't think you should only see a Naturopath, i think it is wise to get a few different opinions from a few different doctors till someone figures you out. It is scary when the doctors can't find what is wrong. That's what happened to my mom it took her months and a few different Doctors to figure out what was going on with her.

Good luck dear I hope someone can help you soon.

Thanks...I'm not sure if we have naturopaths in my area at home, but I guess I'll see what happens after another gyno appointment. I'm not even sure I can wait that long. This morning I woke up and had so much yellow, awful discharge, that it was (TMI) literally shooting out. Now I have ovary pains like I used to have over the spring and summer that weren't from cysts, and my gyno claimed were from ovulation, even though I'm on BCP and not ovulating, and this is an awful, throbbing pain. The symptoms keep piling on daily and I'm ready to kill myself if whatever I have doesn't kill me first.

Navi, I have a few questions about your swollen lymph node, like how long have you had, does it seem to be getting bigger, do you have swollen lymph nodes anywhere else, how old you are, do you have any night sweats, of have you lost weight with out really trying. I don't want to scare you but I think you should see a general doctor. Four years ago I had a swollen lymph node under my arm and then noticed some in my neck. With in four days of going to my Dr, I found out that I had hodgkins disease. I started treatment right away and have been fine since. If you have any questions about this I would be happy to help you. Remember, just because you have one swollen lymph node it dosn't mean anything, I just want to let you know because unfourtnley, Hodgkins can be hard for doc's to RX. I am sure everything is fine and that I am just overreacting because of my history.

The lymph node has been swollen since June of this year, and just started getting a bit bigger. The one on the other side of my neck is a bit swollen too, not as big but I can feel it as opposed to not. To answer the rest of your questions: I'm almost 20, I do have night sweats sometimes (it used to be pretty often but moving to an apartment with bad heat cured that, I'm too cold for even unexplained sweating!), but unfortunately I haven't lost any weight recently (even though I am trying).

I personally think a lot of my symptoms point to the possibility of something like cervical cancer - and even if I don't have that yet, I think I could develop it. I already had cervicitis that I assume hasn't disappeared since the BV treatment didn't work, and that can lead to PID or cancer. I'm not worried if it is something serious like that, but that's exactly why I'm trying to get a real dx now!

In case anyone else can offer insight, the full breakdown of symptoms I have is:

-Swollen lymph node(s) on my neck
-Itching and irritation, sometimes moderate/severe
-Redness (comes and goes, isn't too bad right now)
-Cervicitis caused by an infection that isn't yeast, trich, or another STI
-The infection was supposed to be BV but didn't respond to antibiotics at all
-Excess white blood cells in the vagina region
-Yellow, thick, extremely foul discharge and lots of it
-Ovary/pelvic pain
-Just generally feeling sick; dizzy, confused, etc.

Navi, go to the dr. NOW!! Make your appointment first thing in the morning! I don't want to scare you but I rather be wrong than not say anything. The swollen lymph node"S", the itchness, the redness, the night sweats, are all symptoms of Hodgkins. Because it is so rare, especially in young women, the dr. usually will waste a lot of time looking for other causes and the sooner you can get a RX the better. I know of one woman who was told she was suffering from deppersion and given a script for anti-deppresants. By the time she RX'ed she was already a stage III. The good thing about Hodgkins is that is very curable. Yup, the dr. will say they have cured you. I have been cancer free for 3 1/2 years. Please get this checked out ASAP! And tell the Dr. you think you might have Hodgkins. Make them check for it, you should have a CT scan of the chest pelvis and abdomen. Also go to web-md or any other web site you trust and look up hodgkins. I hope that I am wrong, but I rather be the boy who cried wolf than not say anything at all because I don't want to look stupid. If you have any questions just ask away. Good luck to ya!

Soon as I read the list of symptoms, I was gonna say, go the doctor, do not pass go, do not collect 200$. Gogo, as we say.

Hope it's "nothing", but most importantly, hope you get the help you need.

Definitely keep us posted!
