considering Accutane?

It's been a while since iv visited the acne forum. After suffering with acne for over 13 years, i decided to go on accutane. The best decision i ever made. I wish id done it when i was 18 but nevertheless better late then never to have clear skin. Im still on it ..4th month. I have no idea what i was so afraid off. I mean yes it is medication and needs to be monitored but in my opinion its much better then years of antibiotics!

Hi Fayth,
I haven't taken it, but my brother took it as a teen for his cystic acne and he has had beautiful skin ever since!

I haven't taken it bcs my parents and dr thoght it might hurt my chances of conceiving. I'm grateful for that, since it's probably going to be somewhat difficult as it is for me.

Aside from that, I've heard wonderful things about the results!!

I wish someone would have told me that it might hurt my chances of conceiving when I took it four years ago. The side effects never went away and I'm sure that one of those side effects was on my reproductive system.

There are side effect but as far as the reproductive system goes, u r not suppose to get pregnate for abt 3 months after finishing accutane. It DOES NOT affect ur reproductive system.
On another note Iv been reading a lot about natural progesterone and how it helps the body regulate the hormones, which in turn helps acne. I plan to try it since i think it will help at the root of my problems.
