I tried ProActive for awhile and loved it. It had been so long before that to know what my face looked like without acne! I took a chance and bought the WalMart brand and have been using it ever since. I like the idea of being able to go to WalMart anytime I run out instead of waiting for it to come in the mail.
Since a teen, I have been going to dermatologists for years for my acne. In my teens I had a lot of pimples along with deep, deep blackheads and whiteheads, now the pimples aren't as severe, but the blackheads and whiteheads are the same. My MIL gave me a box of Proactiv last December and I am just now running out (this isn't the norm for most people, a lot of people use the entire set in one month). I only need to use it once a day (and sometimes just every other day) or it will make my skin raw. The Renewing Cleanser (1st bottle) really alleviated my deep whiteheads and blackheads, and during the harsh Chicago winters, my skin adores the Reparing Lotion and their Oil Free Moisture with SPF 15. I also like the body wash they provide.

This information has really helped me decided what to do in regards to my acne problems. I have been trying to figure out what to do since before I was even dx with pcos. I had great skin on bcp but ever since i got off them (05/04) to ttc I have been fighting a loosing battle with acne. So I think I might order a trial set of proactive!!

You can buy it direct from their website. I have also heard people say you can find it on ebay. I buy right from the website and under my user profile, I changed the delivery to the most infrequent (I think it's something like every 14 weeks) instead of one a month. I don't use it that fast. So, it might seem expensive, but it does last a long time. At least for me.

Twice I have started using proactive after my skin started getting especially bad and both times I noticed a difference in just a few days. It definitely wards off the bad breakouts, I love it!

I Don't Want To Be Nosy But How Much Does Proactive Cost? I Have Just Been Diagnosed With Pcos. And My Breakout Are Really Bad. I Had A Problem With Acne When I Was Younger But I Took A Prescription Med And It Helped. I'm Also New To The Site. And Scared To Death About Being Diagnosed With This. I Have Had One Miscarriage Already. Help Please.
They have different sets you can buy. Go to their website at www.proactiv.com . The cheapest set they have, I believe is $29.99. You can have them ship automatically and you set the frequency from every 6 weeks to every 14 weeks. I had mine set to every 14 weeks, but I still haven't used up everything so I just cancelled the automatic shipping. I'll reorder when I run out. As of right now I have 2 of everything from the 2 shipments I've received already. I heard you could find people selling it on ebay, too. I also think one of the pharmacies have something similiar. Maybe it was Walmart? Do a search on this site for ProActiv and you can find more info.

I tried Pro active twice. I've always had acne since I started high school. It didn't work both times. I'm currently paying for chemical peels, but since my acne is worse than my sisters, I might give her the rest of my peels. I'm going to see a dermatologist next week and maybe be put on Accutane. I know, that is the last resort for many people with acne, but I know it does wonders. Plus, to use accutane, u need to be on birth control. Since I have PCOS and am using BCP's already, why not?
for those of you that use pro active and have had success, LUCKIES! i've used so much money on different products from cheap cleaners from beauty stores, to $50 soaps. if proactive is not working for you, i suggest a dermatologist.
just wanted to add my 2 cents worth on this product - it absolutely did not work for me. however, i did love the mask they have. i forget what was in it (think it was sulpher) but it did help my skin clear up a bit. it's pricey though and i can get the same type mask at aveda stores.

Sorry to say it did not work for me either. I guess it depends on the person. Proactive made my skin raw and irritated it. I also spent over $2000.00 on lazer acne treatments and they didn't work at all.
