My dermatologist put me on the duac gel, and I'm not having any results at all. I've also tried the new Clinique system without much improvement. I'm going to give this Proactiv system a try.

Another product I've heard about recently for acne, has anyone had any success with the Murad system?

I've been using Proactiv for 5 years and absolutely loved it! It worked wonderfully. However, it has stopped working. My skin has become flaky and I've been getting a lot of ingrown hairs (around sideburns & chin). I'm currently looking for something else to use, although I was very happy with Proactiv before.

I have ingrown hairs so proactiv didn't seem to deal with that so I had to go off it. It worked for a while for me, but I hear alot of people say you go of it and all the pimples come back

I am brand new to this board but after i went off of birth control my acne got out of hand. I LOVE proactive. I was using the normal system but it dried out my skin. So I payed a little more for the moisturizing system and it is amazing! I can wash my face 2x a day now rather than everyother day and its a huge difference!

I had a horrible time with Melaluca oil. Turned out I was highly allergic to such a high concentration of tea tree oil.

Unhappy

I tried Proactiv for awhile hoping it would work and it didn't. Very disappointing since it is so expensive. I don't know what else to do. Now I have all these scars on my face. I hate it. I was a model for years and once I started getting symptoms of PCOS it all went down hill. Bad skin, thin hair, and weight gain. I hate it!

I tried proactiv and it did nothing... my Dr. prescribed me a BC pill called Diane that is a BC/acne med in one... I honestly haven't had one pimple (on my face... I have the inner thigh acne that is discussed in other threads to the extreme) in the 6 months I've been taking it and the results were almost instant... a few days tops.

I've been using Proactiv for a couple years now. It's the only thing that works for me.

I tried proactive but I was allergic to it. I just use a generic benzoyl peroxide wash now and it works just as well. I get the occasional zit here and there, but nothing like the cystic acne I used to get!

Melinda, if you see a little "lock" icon at the bottom of your browser window (usually right lower corner) on the page you put your CC info in, then it is safe! It means it's encrypted so that only you and the company can see your CC info. Any site with the "lock" is safe to order from. I attached a picture to show you what I mean.

I've been using Proactiv 1x per day for about a year. It has worked well, though, I feel like when I do finally get a period or have some hormonal shifts that nothing helps my acne. I still get bad break outs every so often. But the Proactiv does help it heal up quicker. I really like the face wash and mask - I use it as spot treatment.

Proactive made my acne worse, and it made my face red as a stop sign. If you have sensitive skin like me it might not be the best option. Harsh products just irritate it and make it produce more oil

I have been using Proactiv now for 5 years now, and it works well for me. I started off using it twice per day, and now am able to get by with once per day. Great product.
