Question Constant lightheadedness/fuzzy brain

Hi! I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago, and had a lap to remove a few large cysts from both of my ovaries about 2 months ago. My first period after surgery was awful, and was so heavy that I became lightheaded. I fixed that issue with an iron supplement and felt much better.

I was put on loestrin birth control, and now my periods are much more under control. The only problem is that I am now experiencing the lightheadness almost constantly. It started the day BEFORE my period (which also came 2 weeks early) and even though my period has been extremely light, it has continued on. Iron supplements are not helping. It has been like this for about 5 days straight now.

Since this feeling started I have had a couple of pretty major anxiety attacks, which I hadnt had in a long time. In fact, the anxiety attacks were why I initially went off birth control. When I went off birth control (Ortho tri cyclin lo) my anxiety got much better, but I never had a period. (Which is when I was diagnosed with PCOS).

Sorry for the novel, but I am just trying to figure out what is going on with my body. I cant get in to see my OB until next week and would rather avoid my PCP since she is not very knowledgable on PCOS.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so, how did you rectify it? Feeling like this 24/7 is seriously putting a damper on life.

Thank you for your help!

I have a fuzzy brain most of the time, but i believe it is due to my Hasimoto's disease. I am not sure if PCOS can cause light headed ness or maybe it is your BCP. I would def. contact your doctor if this feeling is not going away. Take it easy and i hope you feel better.

I haven't heard anything about lightheadedness, but its possible. There are so many varied symptoms I wouldn't rule anything out.
