Default Continuing Metformin During Pregnancy?

I check out the Met forum, but a lot of the links don't work for me. I'm looking for some articles/studies on the effects of taking Met for the duration of your pregnancy.

My RE and I had agreed that I stay on it through around 12-13 weeks, but I'm looking for some info to give to my "regular" OB and also trying to decide if I want to ask her to stay on it longer.

Anyone have any good info, especially on Met and GD?

Thanks!

Heather -- there isn't a lot of research, but here is a link to a very recent article:

I am trying to lobby my doctor for the same thing, as I had GD with my DD. I am hoping that Met will help prevent its return. As some of our non-U.S. cysters can attest, staying on Met throughout pregnancy is very common outside of this country. Not sure why.
