Post Contraception - advice needed

Hi!
I have been told about the Mirena Coil. Has anyone had this fitted and was it a success? Does it regulate your cycle at all? I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 23 now 36 and 2 children later, I need some advise on the best form of contraception now. I have tried Diannette with not much success and I also suffer with PMT pretty badly but only have a period every 3 or 4 months.

Any advise would be much appreciated, many thanks!

I had a coil which I found to be fine. I didn't really keep track of my cycle though

Is the Mirena coil one with hormones as well as the actual IUD?

One thing which I was warned about is that there is a very slightly increased risk of ectopic pregnancies with the coil. But your GP should tell you this.

Hiya. I had the mirena fitted last june and it has been brilliant for me. It was having periods that gave me the worst symptoms and the mirena has stopped my periods. If i do get one ,it is very very light. I would recomend it.
Best wishes
Karen
