Smile Cookbooks

Anyone know of any good cookbooks that have PCOS friendly recipes? Trying to find ways to make old favorites work with a PCOS friendly diet.

Thanks,

Georgette

Hi There!

Believe it or not I was actually coming to this board to make this exact same thread.

Here's what I've been using lately.

The South Beach Diet Quick and Easy Cookbook: 200 Delicious Recipes Ready in 30 Minutes or Less
AmazonAmazon
I've actually made about 4 or 5 of the recipes in there within the last couple of weeks. Most of them are delicious! Honestly though... most of them take more than the 30 minutes they tout.

I'm not on the SB diet, but the recipes are spot on for what I've been doing lately with my eating habits.

Medusa - Have you cooked anything out of that cookbook yet? I'd thought about getting it, but some of the reviews on Amazon.com say that it calls for some hard-to-find spices.

i have cooked a few things from the book and i love it, there is recipe for chick pea burgers that was really good. They do not seem to have hard to find spices in the book that i have come across. one recipe called for a vanilla bean which is something hard to find but you can also just use vanilla extra you find at the store
I will have to check out the SB book,
thanks

I am loving this cookbook with low GI recipes. The title includes PCOS, but I can't remember it exactly off the top of my head. It is by two authors and one of them is N. Farid, I think. You could google it. It is so great and gives you so many tips and variations to the recipes. I also have the Low GI cookbook, but haven't tried any of the recipes yet (a lot of them seem to have ingredients that i can't readily get around here--self-rising whole wheat flour? forget it--I am sure there is a way to substitute for it--will have to look it up).
