I'm debating trying this for 3 weeks, then flipping to a whole, all natural diet. Has any of our soul cysters tried this and had success?? I'm on met, 1000mg/day and need an intervention for weight loss pronto!! Just curious to know the success stories, if any!!
Is there any reason why you can't switch to a whole, all natural diet now instead of the cookies? Lots of veggies, lean protein, nutrient packed fruits and healthy fats like nuts and seeds do a body a lot of good. Summer time with cook outs and all of the fresh produce available for less in grocery stores makes it an ideal time to kick start a whole-food plan. What's easier than grilling up some chicken and veggies on the barbecue and finishing off your meal with some fresh berries? Yummy and pretty much no time spent in the kitchen.
I just can't see the cookies being particularly helpful. At the end of the day, you'd just be eating some processed carbs with some added stuff in them instead of real food as a way of reducing your calories.

I can, but after 2 yrs of trying to lose weight, I just really need a kick start. I was hoping the cookie diet would shrink my tummy and wean me off sugars (like ice cream!!!). You eat 6 small things throughout the day and then a decent dinner - which is a good habit to establish. In those 3 weeks I'd like to research the holistic way of living and get a game plan for that. No?
I'm curious too. A local radio station where I live had all the DJs try it, and they all lost about 20-30 lbs in total...but none of them had any other health concerns...so I'm not sure.

You could also consider something like nutrisystem for a jump start for a month or so and see how you like it. It's low glycemic and worked well for me (and I know other women with PCOS who have seen success with it). It's a great way to take the guesswork out of getting started on the right track and is also based on smaller meals throughout the day while integrating fresh fruits and veggies. And you get desserts, too I'd be curious to hear if anyone has had luck on the cookie diet, too. Are they basically like protein bars?

I'd been overweight since adolescence and I've maintained my weight loss (current weight: 135 pounds) for 2 years and am (finally!) officially used to being thin.

I would think you'd be better of just switching over to a whole food diet, even if you do it slowly. I know that the cookie diet has worked for some, but with the PCOS it's hard to know. If you are wanting to shrink your stomach and kickstart things while you get a plan together you could even buy a case of slim fast. Same concept, you just are drinking your meals rather than eating cookies. One of the local DJ's here did it last year and lost over 100lbs. in about 6 months. There are a few factors though. He's male, so he'll lose fast anyway, and he was working out alot. Now he said to maintain his loss there are nights where he just "drinks" a bottle of Classico tomato sauce for dinner *yuck! Good luck.

I'd say that had more of an impact than the cookies he was eating.

Sorry, to clarify my post the DJ was doing the cookie diet. But I think you are right feb. I don't think he could fairly say that he lost the weight based on the cookies alone.
