I would like to put corn on the cob on the grill but im not sure how to do it? Has anyone cooked corn on the grill and left the husks on? Any suggestions would be nice as we would like to make it tonight for supper!!

There's actually two ways of doing it that I know... One is to take the husks off, wash the corn, and then add a tbsp of butter and a little salt to the corn, wrap them back up in the husk and then wrap in foil tightly, and cook for about 30 minutes. The other way is pretty much the same except you dont add anything after washing, you just tie the husks back on (with kitchen string) instead of using foil. That way takes a little less time to cook- 15-20 minutes. But honestly I like the foil way better (probably cuz of the butter though! LOL) You know the corn is done when they are steaming.
Dh just gently pulls back the husk enough to pull some of the silk off (so it won't burn). Then he closes it back up and soaks in cold water for about 1/2 minimum (an hour is best) to prevent drying out and burning. He then leaves it on the grill 20 mintes to 1/2 hour, turning it occassionally on a charcoal grill for a a slightly crunchy corn. For a softer corn cook slightly longer. On a propane grill, it probably won't take quit as long, but still it is best to soak in water.
That is what we are having tonight, with pork ribs (mustard painted and rubbed with a rub), and my own recipe coleslaw. Yummy. And I can't wait!!!

We love roasting the corn straight on the grill. The corn will start turning brown as it cooks, so just rotate it until it is all toasted. Delicious! No butter or salt needed.

Just having fun doing it the "natural way"
We did this a couple of weeks ago while camping. Pull back the husk, remove as much of the silk as possible, fold the husk back up and stick it on the grill (over coals, not flame) for about 20 minutes, turning every couple of minutes. On a propane grill you can do the same thing on the upper grate. Mmmm-MMMM! The corn turned out juicy and perfect, and not burnt at all.
If you're cooking steaks, you'll want to wait a few minutes before you throw those on, or they'll be done a while before the corn.
With really fresh corn, you don't need added butter or fat to boost the flavor. But if you like to butter your corn, but want to cut down on the fat, liberally butter a bread heel and use THAT to butter your corn. You'll get an even coat of minimal butter without overdoing it.
