My Mood: Points: 48,382.73 Bank: 3,758,295.40 Total Points: 3,806,678.13 | Cortisone's affect on blood sugar I had a cortisone injection in my hip about a week and a half ago. I know that steriods can cause an increase in blood sugar. I am supposed to get a fasting sugar, insulin and do a glucose tolerance test @ my convience. I wanted to go in tomorrow, but I am unsure how long the steriod will affect my blood sugar. Does anyone know if it would be out of my system by now? TIA!

I am not sure how long it stays in your system though. Maybe you should ask your Dr. You don't want to go too soon and them think your diabetic even though it may be from the cortisone. |
