The cost of 5 days of 50mg clomid in my neck of the woods (metro Detroit) is $24.99. Be sure to call for different prices on your clomid before filling it. You will be shocked at the price difference. The pharmacy on the corner was going to charge me $50. The pharmacy a mile further down the road was the one charging $24.99.

My insurance doesn't pay so I shopped around. I got 5 pills at 50mg for $10 at walmart.

Good luck

Thank you so much for the help! Unfortunately my RE didnt want to put me on it yet he wants to keep letting the Glucophage work and see if I will O from that. So he is giving me another 3 months to see if it will work and then take it from there.

I'm on generics, which saves plenty of money, even for the stuff insurance covers.

I switched from Glucophage to generic metformin (4 pills a day). Glucophage was partially covered by insurance but we had a copay of US$30 a month. I get the generic from a mail-order service that does business with my insurer, and I get a three month supply for $14. HUGE saving, and I only have to reorder once every three months instead of every month.

I've just been bumped up to 150s on clomiphene citrate, and it looks like we paid US$65.09 for that (not one penny covered by insurance). Back in 2000, my OB had me on brand-name Clomid, and for 5 days of 50s we paid US$100. When he upped me to 100s then, he switched me to the generic and we paid US$100 for double the amount of generic. The prices have come down, but it's still definitely worth looking into generics if price is a concern!

I should mention that I've been on Synthroid for years, and back home in Canada, with insurance, I paid CDN$3.17 a month for it. In the US, with insurance, I still pay US$14 for three months of it through the mail order service, which is US$4.67, which with today's exchange rate comes to CDN$6.37. That's double the cost!
